The Motors

The Motors were a British pub rock band, formed in London in 1977 by Nick Garvey and Andy McMaster together with guitarist Rob Hendry (who was replaced in May 1977 by Bram Tchaikovsky) and drummer Ricky Slaughter.

Their biggest hit was 'Airport', released in 1978 on Virgin Records and it got to No.4 in eth charts that year.

They charted again later in 1978 with a follow-up single 'Forget about You', which was again taken from their second album 'Approved by the Motors'.

The band originated out of the London Pub Rock scene of the mid to late 1980s and broke up after trying to move on into Synth based styles after the departure of Bram Tchaikovsky in 1980.

Never got to see this group but remember these two tracks as part of the Summer of '78, school was out and waiting for exam results....

Released in July 1978, the Rezillos' first studio album " Can't Stand the Rezillos " (and one of my favourite albums) is considered a classic of the first wave of British punk, but the group split up...
